The 2026 Yorkshire Invitational hosted by Colin Montgomerie OBE

Hello,
The Yorkshire Invitational is a two day spectacle run by SGH Events.
Hosted at Ilkley Golf Club, with honorary member Colin Montgomerie OBE, which was his child hood club. It was a truly special moment to see his iconic swing in person and get a picture with the multiple European Tour winner and five time Ryder Cup winner.

The order of the event:
Day 1: Morning Pro-Am, followed by the Celeb-Am.
Day 2: Tournament Pro-Am. The second day was the main Tournament Pro-Am, with teams made up of one professional and three amateurs, with the professionals also competing individually for the Yorkshire Invitational title.
The first day including guests such as Gareth Southgate, Lee Dixon, Jason Robinson and other sporting legends, to name just a few.
Dame Laura Davies was also competing in the Yorkshire invitational, and I watched her play a bunker shot onto the green. She made it look too easy, which was great to see up close.
The course was immaculate, and you could really see the attention to detail from the green staff.
There was plenty going on at the event, and it was completely free for spectators to come along and watch some spectacular golf and enjoy the atmosphere.
Event Village:
The event village had plenty of stalls and that’s where we had our stand with our waxed cotton and wool headcovers, along with the launch of our new British wool beanie hats, which proved very popular.

what stood out at the event was the friendliness and vibe with in the golf community from the team at SGH events, the Ilkley golf club team, players and every one else involved.
I met Adrian, a pro now based in Germany, who gave me some tips on my golf grip which has made a huge difference to my game. More importantly, I’m enjoying it even more!
Food & Drink:
There was some great tea and coffee on offer from a lovely decorated horse box trailer serving barista coffee and pastries.
There was some open fire cooking, I tried the hand dived scallops and samphire which were a real taste sensation to me and a first. There where other food on offer too such as your classic breakfast sandwiches.
There was a bar tent serving refreshing drink's including local draft beer from the area.
Over all it was a fantastic couple of days. We really enjoyed being part of it and meeting so many people from the golfing community.
Congratulation Chris Hanson
The winner of the 2026 Yorkshire invitational trophy.
Cheers to the next one.
Best Regards,
